The objective of the present study is to offer a new reading of the Political Philosophy of De regno of Thomas Aquinas, underlying its precedents in the work of Albert the Great. The political doctrine of Aquinas in De regno, as it is the case of his master Albert the Great, allows delimiting three main meanings of Politic. In fact, Aquinas offers in his unfinished work, a precise idea of Politic as scientia, as art of the good governance and as virtue. In turn, the idea of scientia offered by Thomas is not independent of his conception about the authentic wisdom that offers the Supernatural Theology. As it is the case in Albert the Great, the political work of Aquinas, entirely funded within an onto-theological system, excludes absolutely the possibility of rebuilding a scientia practica radically autonomous from the rest of the system.
