This paper presents new findings of Canis familiaris recovered from four Late Holocene sites located in the lower Paraná wetland, generated by complex hunter-gatherers. The records come from faunal discard areas and burial areas. Some bones from the recovered specimens show cut marks, reflecting the manipulation of the bodies prior to their final disposal. Morphometric analyses allow for the discrimination of the recovered remains from wild canids, assigning them to a medium-sized dog morphotype, with wither heights ranging between approximately 42 and 48 cm. These new findings add to a significant number of previous records, positioning the region as the extra-Andean area with the highest number of pre-Columbian C. familiaris findings in South America.
