The Focalised Therapy Group (FTG) is a psychodynamic-oriented, short-termed and focalized diagnostic-therapeutic device. For the treatment of early violent adolescents, a therapeutic guide with specific objectives, their development and the specific technique to achieve them was developed. This therapeutic guide has been used with 9 FTG for early violent adolescents to study the therapeutic eficacy of the device through the analysis of process and outcome. In this research work we present one of the specific objectives of the FTG which was operationalized in the therapeutic guide: Understand the reason for consultation or awareness of illness. To achieve this goal, the specific graphic activities of the second and eighth session of the device were analysed. In the second session, expressions that show the absolute lack of knowledge and non-specific or vague expressions of reason for consultation related to discourse from parental igures and/or school were detected. In the eighth session there was an increased expression of the reason for consultation by which they were derived, behavioral and attitudinal changes, the valuation of the speaking and listening and the desire or need to change to achieve further progress in the therapeutic process.
