The present research work aims to develop the criticism that Žižek made to the category of subject in historicist key, that is to say, the postmodern conception that recognizes that the subject is the product of the modes of subjectivation. Our work consists in exposing, from the theoretical developments of Foucault and Preciado on the category of subject, the flanks by which the critical theory of the žižekian subject becomes present, in his particular re-reading of the rationalist and idealist European classics (Descartes, Kant, Schelling, and Hegel) as well as Lacan. Subsequent to the exposition of the theory of the subject in the Slovene thinker, there will be a confrontation that discusses on an ontological plane between that position and the postmodern and historicist positions that place the subject as the effect of certain relations of power.
