The new chapter of the Israel/Palestine conflict unleashed on October 7, 2023, gave rise to a proliferation of discourses which, while highlighting the particularity of the event, were inscribed in already traditional ways of thinking about the situation of the Palestinians in relation to the role of the State of Israel. The Muslim space, as an arena of discourses, practices and stances, has a relative autonomy from the Arab space, secular organizations and militancy supporting the Palestinian cause. We propose to analyze the native categories that permeate the discourse and underlie the actions of a group of associations and leaders of Muslim communities in Argentina. The escalation of violence triggered a reading of the events expressed in statements and activities over and above the different internal orientations of the Muslim tradition. At the same time, interpretations were produced based on the specificity and geopolitical alignment of the different groups. Based on the analysis of statements and the observation of activities organized in religious institutions and in the public space, this paper analyzes the native categories operationalized in Muslim milieus to thinking about the conflict and rendering it communicable in interreligious and secular spaces.
