2019 was declared "the international year of indigenous languages", thus enabling a series of demands for recognition in various regions, including the province of Neuquén. The right to language is a key point in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of Indigenous Peoples since it is essential for the the revival and development of the cultural and political support of many peoples and nations. The revitalization and officialization of the Mapuzugun is a political strategy that promotes an intercultural and decolonizing dialogue that we cannot ignore. For this reason, we understand that it is vital to delve into this long time struggle, which, necessarily, places us in a complex scenario marked by social and political conflict. In this article, we approach, through data constructed during our fieldwork, a series of reflections on the forms of organization and political participation of Mapuce women as defenders of common goods and ancestral knowledge. To this end, we focus on “SPEAKING OUT” and linguistic revitalization as political strategies against the state and private advance over the Mapuce body-territories.
