| dc.description.abstract | This essay approaches a genealogy of the posthuman in Michel Foucault, starting from the premise that genealogy is a way of recognizing how we have become what we are, and the posthuman is thought of as that which throughout history has been presented as something untimely or inopportune, challenging certain forms of constitution of the human. I present three scenes in showing how the concern about the constitution of the human appears in Foucault's thought, his preoccupation with the forms of resistance to the government of individualization, which categorizes us as individuals, assigning us an identity. But also discovering that a plurality inhabits us and that there are other forms of relationship with others and with the world, which are not reduced to the modern subject of knowledge or to the individual as a juridical category. These three scenes respond to the modes of subjectivation and the relations between truth, power and subject, which Foucault addressed at different moments of his production: the appearance of man as an object of knowledge, which can be erased like a face of sand at the edge of the sea; the writing of the great book of the Man-machine, which prefigures docile and obedient bodies; and the stoic meditation of the gaze from on high, which lets us know that we are but a point, yet one with the Earth. | es |
