Both Brazilian and Argentinan developmentalism share a common characteristic that accompanies them since their founding as bodies of doctrine: they remain in the cultural heritage of our countries. This article makes a comparison between the Brazilian desenvolvimentismo and Argentinan desarrollismo taking into account not just the constituent elements of their programs, but rather the historical resonances that of these two doctrinaire bodies are verified in the always extensive and open territory of social imaginary. Our main focus of analysis will be the various implications of these two formulations of national thought that can be seen in terms of organization of practical experience and motivations for action in certain social actors in each of the countries.
