Ciudades del agro: Entramados productivos e interacciones regionales, nacionales y globales

Abstract

El trabajo tiene como objetivo describir las características de un entramado productivo local considerando las interacciones meso-regionales, macro-nacionales y globales del mismo, analizando las condicionalidades que estas interacciones le imprimen. Para ello se realiza una descripción de las principales perspectivas teóricas que explican el desarrollo económico territorial, como los distritos industriales, clusters y sistemas productivos locales. Luego pasa revista sobre las principales críticas y debilidades del mismo al tiempo que se procura realizar un análisis multi-escalar. Se concluye que el sistema productivo local constituye un sistema heterogéneo con actores de diferente tamaño y peso, siendo notable la estructura asimétrica del mismo. Pese a la relevancia de un actor principal, el sistema posee una economía condicionada y vulnerable a las dinámicas globales en las que se inserta.The aim of this paper is to describe the characteristics of a local productive network considering the meso-regional, macro-national and global interactions of the same, analyzing the conditionalities that these interactions print on it. To this end, a description is made of the main theoretical perspectives that explain territorial economic development, such as industrial districts, clusters and local productive systems. Then it reviews the main criticisms and weaknesses of it, while doing a multi-scalar analysis. It is concluded that the local productive system constitutes a heterogeneous system with actors of different size and weight, the asymmetric structure of which is remarkable. Despite the relevance of a main actor, the system possesses a conditioned and vulnerable economy, the global dynamics in which it is inserted.
