La temporalidad transformista en prácticas contemporáneas

Abstract

Las prácticas transformistas acontecidas en la ciudad de Buenos Aires entre 2016 y 2022, en Trabestia Drag Club y Carrera de Reyes, presentaron rasgos que las diferenciaron de otras ocurridas en el campo artístico porteño. Desarrollaron identidades pensadas para las instancias escénicas, pero que excedían ese momento. Este artículo estudia la dimensión temporal desplegada por las prácticas para inscribirla dentro de los estudios en torno a la temporalidad trans* y observar, a partir de la persona drag y los testimonios reunidos, intermitencias, solapamientos e interrupciones temporales.Between 2016 and 2022, drag practices in Buenos Aires—particularly those emerging from Trabestia Drag Club and Carrera de Reyes—exhibited distinctive characteristics that set them apart from other performances in the city’s artistic scene. There, the identities crafted for the stage often extended beyond the performance itself. This paper examines the temporal dimensions of these practices, situating them within the framework of trans* temporality studies. Through analysis of drag personae and collected testimonies, the study explores temporal moments of intermittence, overlapping, and disruption.
