Una reflexión política sobre los usos y sentidos de "ser tehuelche" y "ser mapuche"

Abstract

En la provincia de Chubut los usos de las categorías "tehuelche" y "mapuche" (así como "mapuche-tehuelche") han ido variando a lo largo del tiempo y de acuerdo con los distintos contextos sociopolíticos y geográficos. Nos proponemos aquí reflexionar sobre este proceso, prestando atención a los cambios que estos usos y sentidos fueron generando en los lenguajes de contienda con el estado y con la academia, en las subjetividades políticas de quienes se identifican con ellos y en los modos de posicionarse frente al estado y entre organizaciones o comunidades. A partir de este breve racconto histórico reflexionamos sobre la relación entre política y etnicidad desde una perspectiva local.In the province of Chubut, the uses of the ―Tehuelche‖ and ― Mapuche‖ categories (as well as ―Mapuche-Tehuelche‖) have varied over time and in accordance with different socio-political and geographical contexts.
