Decent work concept arose in the 90s as a new analytical category to describe the performance of the labor market and labor relations. Indicators’ purpose is to measure the degree to which certain goal has been achieved. The existence of qualitative variables makes individuals have inconvenience in representing an exact numeric value when evaluating different aspects related to their welfare. Subject to such circumstances it’s more appropriate to express their thoughts through linguistic values rather than exact numerical values. In this paper, it’s made a proposal to measure decent work deficits in linguistic form with dimensions from the actual collection of decent work indicators. Finally, some commentaries are made about the benefits of the use of linguistic variables in that collection.
