Departing from the analysis of the socio-cultural world and its dimensions, together with the subject’s world, we analyze the variables territory and time, with particular reference to post-modernity. The dramaturgical work of Samuel Beckett –with emphasis in his work “Waiting for Godot”-is considered in terms of its convergences with the historic and socio-cultural stage. Beckett undervalues the interpersonal relations, showing a marginal world of defeated and perplexed people facing the confusion between reality and unreality, sense and non-sense. Considered as the “last modern”, mainly in terms of his aesthetic of the uncertainty, his works can be related to a theological skepticism near to the heideggerian dasein. We analyze the importance and diversity of territories, both in the real and symbolic senses: seas, mountains and deserts, focused in Simmel’s aesthetics, Bachelard’s poetics, and the understanding of themeaning of post-modernity present in authors like Sloterdijk, Deleuze and Guattari, among others. Life and death, memory and its fractures, endless wait, chaos, scenes of post-catastrophe: they are all components of the existential and desert realms wherethe Beckett characters debate.
