In the framework of an investigation of the imaginaries for after the end in the recent Argentine narrative, the present work analyze Mara(2014) by Lucas Ryan and Quema(2015) by Ariadna Catellarnou to describe how they construct dystopian territories. This construction summons the central dichotomy civilization/barbarism associated with the classic city/country confrontation as it has been built in the tradition of our national literature from Domingo F.Sarmiento's Facundo. But, at the same time, it seems to displace it to give rise to new maps and singular routes. Displacement that impacts on the possibility of imagine the causes of the end and forces us to reflect on the allegorical readings that this type of fiction usually generates.
