There is a mediating relationship between attachment and empathy. The caregiver needs to be empathic towards the child in order for a secure attachment to be established, which allows for higher levels of prosociality and empathic responses throughout the life cycle. The aim of this work is to evaluate the influence of the dimensions of empathy and attachment on conflict in friendship quality in children from Entre Ríos, Argentina. The sample consisted of 181 children aged between 8 and 12 years (M=10.14 SD=0.91). To evaluate the relationship between the dimensions of attachment and empathy with conflict in the quality of friendship in children, Pearson correlations were carried out between the variables. Stepwise linear regressions were used to assess the influence of the dimensions of empathy and attachment on conflict in friendship quality. The results showed a significant inverse correlation between emotional regulation and conflict (-.340**), as well as significant direct correlations between anxious attachment and conflict (.243**) and avoidant attachment and conflict (.348**). Finally, in the stepwise regressions, the dimensions of empathy and attachment predicted 20% of the variance in conflict.
