This site, locally known as “El Chorro” or “La Vizcachera”, is located in the La Cueva gorge, northern section of the Humahuaca gorge, Humahuaca department, Jujuy Province (Argentina). The results of modern field survey at the site are presented in the text in order to analyze the architectural features of the Pukara Morado de La Cueva and the use of space inside the site. It is complemented by the revision of the limited materials recovered, which are further compared with the ones found in the nearby area. The main objective is thus to evaluate previous descriptions and interpretations of HUM.07a regarding its features, chronology and functionality, to better understand some aspects of the use of space in the La Cueva gorge.
