Abstract

The multiple uses of cacti represent an important alternative to improve livelihood in dry regions by generating employment and positively impacting the ecosystem. Their various purposes include utilization in human food , and their pharmaceutical properties. Recently, cacti have been valued for the increasing studies on secondary metabolites and their contribution to the sustainable development of the planet.
