Abstract

O artigo que ora apresentamos tem como objetivo principal analisar o contexto latino-americano no cenário de crise do capital, marcado pelo recrudescimento de políticas neoliberais, por restrições do Estado social e pela perda de direitos e expansão de práticas punitivas que afetam a classe trabalhadora na sua diversidade. O texto procura debater, sumariamente, a forma como a questão social e suas múltiplas refrações se expressam na atualidade, como são construídas as políticas sociais no contexto de desmanche do Estado, bem como as potencialidades e limites do Serviço Social como profissão nesta complexidade, seu sentido socioeducativo crítico.The main objective of this article is to analyze the Latin American context in the scenario of the crisis of capital, a reality marked by the resurgence of neoliberal policies, by social state restrictions, and by the loss of rights and expansion of punitive practices that affect the working class in its diversity. This article seeks to discuss, briefly, the way in which the social issue and its multiple refractions are expressed today, how social policies are constructed in the context of dismantling the state, as well as the potentials and limits of social work as a profession in this complexity, its critical socio-educational sense.
