This paper describes the contributions to my research received during my residence in Brazil from June to September of 2007. In those months, I was progressing in my Ph.D. in Social Sciences, researching about environmental conflicts in Argentina, especially, socioenvironmental conflicts generated by the large-scale mining, at the beginning of the XXI century. In Brazil I met professors and students who I was able to share ideas about issues with respect to my research. I also participated in a congress, visited different librarys and I had access to original bibliography about environmental conflicts and social movements. I especially emphasize my encounter with two perspectives that dialogue with one another: the Latin American Political Ecology and the Environmental Justice. Based on the above, I consider that my time in Brazil was essential to think about my research, and opened ways that even today I continue to travel through them.
