In this article we propose to address the modalities of action of a set of socio-community organizations dedicated to the education and care of children in popular neighborhoods of Greater Buenos Aires, Argentine Republic. Specifically, the objective is to analyze the processes of collective and political construction of the educational actions of these associations, recovering the production of space as the axis of approach. The analysis is based on qualitative, anthropological research carried out through the ethnographic approach. The field work was carried out in the northwest area of Greater Buenos Aires, in the districts of José C. Paz, San Miguel and Tigre, and included participant observation and anthropological interviews as methodological strategies. It is our hypothesis that the decisions that community educators make regarding buildings reveal the progressive consolidation and politicization of grassroots associations and their consequent active intervention in the disputed field of education and childcare.
