The author reconstructs the history of pentecostalism in Argentina from a sociological perspective through the concept of religious field developed by Pierre Bourdieu. There are two main goals in this article: on the one hand, trying to understand the relation's structures that rule the social space of religious minorities in a traditionally catholic country. On the other hand, the contribution to a critical review of the field's notion, exploring its limits and strengths within the complex reality of Latin-American's societies. The article is divided in three parts. The first one studies the assumptions of Bourdieu's theory ant its uses within the domains of sociology of religion. The second one is focused on characterizing the catholic hegemony in Argentina through the "integralist model". Finally, the third part, tackles the process of introduction and development of pentecostalism as it becomes the biggest growth rate religious minority in the country.
