The objective of this paper is an epistemological, theoretical and methodological reflection on the research process about the nursing profession in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to achieve this goal, we use reflexivity strategies to think about our place as cognisant subjects, the field of work and the known subjects, in line with the contributions of gender and feminist theory. Likewise, on the basis of methodological constructivism, we consider the elaboration of a specific concept to address research on nursing, its limits, and potentialities, as well as some methodological implications. Our work warns about some problems related to the notions of equality and equity, the definition of gender, and the need for a perspective sensitive to the way in which theories require deconstruction. This is in order to better address the problems of a feminized professional sector which, historically, has had its professional and labor characteristics ignored.
