The paper enrolls this experience in Aricó’s interest on the so-called crisis of Marxism. Particularly, on the debates around the limits of socialist political theory. Aricó’s work is read as an attempt to enrich political dimension of Marxism, by linking it even with authors very away from that tradition, such as Carl Schmitt or Max Weber. Analyzing this initiative in the context of intellectual and editorial production of the time, the article proposes refine images from exile in Mexico as a scenario exclusively dominated by the issue of democracy.
