The purpose of this article is to analyze the problem of resistance in the contemporary biopolitical debate. Some critical observations of a more general nature are to be made, in order to contribute to a theoretical reflection on the problem of resistance in the contemporary biopolitical order: a) on the relationship between tradition and biopolitics, b) on the uses of biopolitical thought in the Latin America context, and c) on how the problem of resistance is thought about in the italian biopolitical debate. Finally, the text proposes an alternative to the usual ways of thinking the resistance to biopowers, the idea of 'biopolitical democracy'.
