This article will analyze how newspapers narrated and positioned themselves regarding incidents of censorship, detention, and violence that affected journalists and media outlets between 1975 and 1976 in Viedma (Río Negro), within a continuum of political violence beyond the differences between the constitutional and dictatorial governments. Hypothetically, we would consider that the Río Negro press acted as an adaptive press to the extent that it expressed certain ideological coincidences. The comparative study of national-provincial-local circulation newspapers allows us to identify continuities, influences, and differences in the operations of inclusion, exclusion, and hierarchization regarding the construction of news. Methodologically, based on the analysis of social discourse, thematic and rhetorical aspects and production conditions were investigated, leading not only to the consultation of newspapers but also court cases and legislative session records, sourced from repositories in different localities.
