This study analyzes the mechanical strength of traditional adobe in arid and seismic contexts, in the western region of Catamarca, specifically in various localities in the Tinogasta. department. It evaluated how the incorporation of technologies in the production processes contributes to improving the material's structural performance under adverse geographic and environmental conditions. The research includes the characterization of the physical and mechanical properties of traditional adobe, determining factors that influence its durability and structural behavior. Multiple series of experimental probes were created, implementing compaction methods with optimized technology, to improve mechanical resistance and ensure better internal cohesion of the material. The results obtained show a notable variation in the compressive strength of the new probes compared to traditional adobe, under various applied loads. This improvement represents a significant advance in terms of structural quality, especially in regions where buildings must withstand both seismic events and extreme weather conditions.
