This work analyzes the development of Argentine wine exports from 1980 to 2019, focusing on the evolution of the exchange rate and macroeconomic policies, as well as the dynamics of the recipient markets. The main hypothesis posits that exports became an outlet for the Argentine wine sector amid the most significant crisis it had to face throughout the 20th century. This led to profound transformations and the implementation of a new sectoral development strategy. The research is primarily based on quantitative sources provided by the National Institute of Viticulture, the Mendoza Stock Exchange, and the International Organization of Vine and Wine.
