We seek to understand the development of Chubut since installing the industrialization project subsidized by the state, watching a fraction of Argentina’s working class was formed: one that is built in north-eastern Chubut since the late 50s. A textile industrial park, primary aluminium factory and fish processing plants are promoted, trying to consolidate the exercise of national sovereignty over sparsely populated territories. From the State sought to build a working class that will be unified with the ‘national’ objectives and was not “politicized”. We observe how this new working class is formed, with great importance of immigrants from the neighbouring country of Chile.
