In a recent article is postulated the existence of a ‘theory of the time of politics’ which, although very influential in Brazil and Argentina, allegedly confuses native categories and analytical principles, and creates an artificial opposition between a time where politics would exist and another where it would not exist at all. We will demonstrate that such a theory does not exist and disclose how it has been imagined by the authors of the article; also, we will argue that what has been influential is, actually, the analytical strategy —developed in Brazil— of the 'Anthropology of Politics'. Key words: Anthropology of Politics; The time of politics; Anthropological theory; Ethnography.
