The dynamic of real estate can be understood from the study of land rent, through its different modalities. Thus, the different types of rent are fundamental tools for understanding the advance of real estate frontier. Likewise, the declaration of heritage by unesco in 2003 accelerated the process of land valorization in the Quebrada de Humahuaca, which generated large profits for tourism and land owners. Indeed, the main purpose of this paper is to identify the articulation between the profits obtained through peri-urban rents, in relation to the growth of tourist services and the increase in land prices. To do this, land prices over the last twenty years were inspected, in order to document the dollar values, which exceed the continuous devaluations and the growing inflationary process. In this way, two premises were verified: the gaps generated in periurban transition areas, which turned into peri-urban rents; a process stimulated by the pronounced growth in real estate prices which was fed back by the expansion of tourism.
