The article analyzes the rhetoric through which Argentine president Javier Milei constructs journalism as a political adversary, situating it within the register of illegality and immorality. Although conflicts between governments, journalists, and media outlets are not a new phenomenon in Argentine political history, the current context is characterized by a discourse that seeks to place the self-proclaimed «independent journalism» at the margins of, or outside, the political field. This rhetoric, which we define as adversarial and radical, unfolds within a hybrid media-digital ecosystem that enables interventions across both social media platforms and traditional media. The study draws on a corpus consisting of television interviews given by Milei and posts on the X platform (formerly Twitter), either published or reshared by the president.
