Inscripciones históricas al sur del lago Cardiel (Santa Cruz, Argentina)

Abstract

Se presenta nueva información sobre motivos rupestres de tiempos históricos relevados en Estancia La Criolla, en las mesetas ubicadas entre el lago Cardiel y la meseta del Cardiel Chico (Patagonia meridional, Argentina). Así, se desarrolla el análisis sistemático de estas inscripciones. La información resultante se discute en el marco de las investigaciones en curso a escala regional. Se destaca la relevancia de considerar evidencia arqueológica de este tipo para comprender el uso de espacios ganaderos marginales de comienzos del siglo XX.New information is presented concerning rock art motifs from historical times recorded at Estancia La Criolla, on the plateaux located between Lake Cardiel and the Cardiel Chico plateau (southern Patagonia, Argentina). Thus, the systematic analysis of these inscriptions is developed. This information is discussed in the context of the ongoing research at the regional scale. The relevance of considering archaeological evidence of this type to understand the use of marginal livestock areas at the beginning of the 20th century is emphasized.
