Within the framework of the "Teaching" section, dedicated to research writing in the humanities, this article reflects on approaches to literature from the perspective of cultural history, the sociology of literature, and cultural analysis. It draws on the experience of teaching postgraduate courses on the relationship between literature, history, and society at EIDAES (UNSAM), attended by graduates in Literature as well as those from other Humanities and Social Sciences programs. It analyzes the interdisciplinary approach to the study of literature and the development of potential research lines for postgraduate thesis projects, focused on Argentine literature. Additionally, the ways in which the relationship between literature, history, and society is addressed in the course “Problems of Argentine Literature” in the Literature program (FFyL, UBA) are discussed. Finally, Gisèle Sapiro’s proposal in her "manual" on the sociology of literature (2014-2016) is reviewed in view of the pioneering interventions by Altamirano and Sarlo in Literatura / Sociedad (1983), and its relevance for considering an agenda of research topics and methodologies.
