Book fairs are consecrated spaces for the circulation of books and literature. In these scenarios, the agents that participate in the publishing sector –publishers, editors, authors, mediators, readers– enter the scene and interact with each other, creating fundamental moments for the social life of books. Politics has not been alien to these events, but is constitutively part of them. Books dealing with politics and their authors linked to the political worlds participate and intervene in these scenarios that have resonance in the public debate. In recent years, radicalized right-wingers have been occupying greater visibility and presence in international book fairs, through related books, authors and publishers. This paper reflects on this process based on the question of the crisis of democracy, taking into account the tensions generated in the sector and in the public debate by the participation of publishing initiatives that radicalize democratic values in international book fairs.
