In the course of a period from 1829-1842, Carlo Zucchi work in Buenos Aires and Montevideo as an official architect. In that period he carried out a significant number of projects in the field of public and private architecture, of the funerary monument and fittings to the public celebrations. From the internationalization of the conflict in the Rio de la Plata, in the early years of the 1840s, Zucchi decided to return in Italy carrying your drawings and other documents. This files, due to its dimension and content, means a revolution for the understanding of the architecture and art of the early XIX century in Argentina and Uruguay, not only because it is extensively documented from the first sketches to the definitive projects of Zucchi but also for the existence, inside the folders, from drawings made by other engineers and architects. Furthermore, the collection clearly shows the diffusion and hybridization of the neoclassical ideas in contexts far away from the origino f this architectural culture.
