Considering planning as a fundamental tool in the production of knowledge, and Investigación Proyectual as a relevant epistemological framework for research in architecture, this article proposes to make visible the Housing Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires (ibva) as a condenser of experiments projects that, in terms of minimum housing, capitalized on the praxis of prominent architecture professionals at the local level. From the contributions of Zalba as the first Director of the ibva, the atepam prototype (1958) is taken as a case study. The results weigh the validity of the model in relation to contemporary ways of living. In methodological terms, Plataforma Crítica allows the exploration of project strategies and resources towards adaptability, as a parameter of the Estándares Mínimos de Calidad para Viviendas de Interés Social (Argentina). The conclusions intend to recover planning dimensions –theory, methodology and technique- in the qualitative definition of Social Housing in Argentina.
