In this article we propose to address some experiences and challenges of the Extension Project SEU-UNC 2016-2018 called “Land of Comechingones. Territorial reconstruction and collaborative mapping of comechingones heritage sites in San Marcos Sierras”. We begin from conceiving the extension work as a `dialogue of knowledge’, trying to account for the `epistemological pluriversity’ contained in the notion of territory. From this, we address some theoretical issues arising from our fieldwork, which are related to the tension between fixation and mobility, and between different views about the territory, that urge us to reflect on our own investigative and extensional practices.
