In this paper, I analyze the particularities of the individuality formation processes (socialization, subjectivation or individuation) and the modalities of individuation (collectivist or singularist) in two therapeutic communities with a strong religious mark located in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (Argentina). For this purpose, I analyze the experiences of four former residents. Those who leave the community must return to a complex situation: face again a set of trials that were suspended during treatment, or of facing them without strong institutional support. This transition is often accompanied by biographical gaps, i.e., feelings of alienation from the world and from the circles of socialization and sociability of which they were part before entering the therapeutic community.
