The affective turn in the educational field represents the opportunity to understand the processes of intersubjective constitution, recovering the emotional dimension of the links in the school plotting. Feelings carry a relational dimension and are expressed in bonding designs. Pity is a feeling structured under power dynamics and relationships that hides certain ideas of human superiority and inferiority. In educational institutions these different meanings and ways of understanding and feeling pity (for others or for oneself) come into play, structuring the relationships between subjects and constituting the school perspective. The element of struggle for recognition is central to understanding the feelings faced with lack of respect and contempt. We ask ourselves about how pity works as a mechanism and what its effects are on the socio-educational trajectories of students with disabilities.
