This paper analyzes the particular characteristics assumed by the territorial processes of advancement of soybean crops —a concept we call soybeanization— together with the analysis of the structure and dynamics of poverty, measured from the Unsatisfied Basic Needs method. The territory selected for this analysis is the Norte Grande Argentino, which includes the poorest provinces in the country and where soybean production stood out, unlike the central area of the country, due to a marked intensity. Both processes were analyzed and possible associations between them were sought in a long period of time, marked by important economic and social transformations in the country.
