The free-radicals theory of aging states that organisms age because cells accumulate free radical damage over time. One of the principal postulates of this theory is that the free radicals are implicated as decisive participants in biological oxidation-reductions. In this paper, from the theoretical frame of the structuralist view of the scientific theories, it is intended to clarify the relationship between the free-radicals theory and the model of oxidation-reduction reactions.
