This work aims to explain the way in which Foucault presents and defines neoliberalism. We are interested in accounting for its specificity in the mode of production of contemporary behaviors and subjectivities. At the same time, it is through the analysis of its operation and its results at the population level that we will try to think if it is possible to generate some type of resistance to the attacks of this form of exercise of power. To carry out this investigation, we will divide the work into three points: firstly, we will seek to define neoliberalism according to Foucault by establishing a counterpoint with liberal forms of government. Secondly, we will focus on thinking about neoliberalism as a political practice and its consequences at the level of knowledge and practices. Finally, once these explanations have been made, we will reflect on the possibility of exercising "counter-conduct" within neoliberal logic.
