This article shares reflections based on research on the connection between young people and politics in Argentina between 2011 and 2023. Its purpose is to question and to problematize the processes of political radicalization and the rise of the libertarian far-right since the pandemic, in relation to the dynamics of youth politicization underway since the beginning of the new millennium. First, a review is made of the main events that between the post-crisis (2001-2002) and the post-pandemic shaped the dynamics of youth politicization and marked generational experiences, taking three key socio-historical milestones: the 2001 crisis, the so-called conflict between the government and the countryside in 2008, and the global Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Then, the focus is placed on the political uses made by the far-right of the recent dictatorial past as a leitmotif of youth politicization in the last four decades It is argued that this has been, from the democratic recovery until the second decade of the new millennium, a driving force of youth politicization, and has since become political capital in dispute, strategically enhanced in the pandemic context, experienced as trauma or social catastrophe.
