In northeastern Argentina, extreme flooding events are the main cause of socioenvironmental conflicts, both due to the surface areas affected, as well as their recurrence. Within this framework, and with the purpose of mitigating the adverse effects generated by the manifestation of these phenomena, Geographic Information Systems provide key tools that allow the generation of basic information for the management and early warning of flood risks. Therefore, the objective of this work is to generate basic information about the recurrence of floods in the San Cayetano Provincial Park (Corrientes), which is a natural reserve located on the left bank of the Riachuelo stream. In this sense, different cartographies associated with flood hazards have been generated using Google Earth Engine tools, to know which are the most affected areas of the park and thus contribute with basic knowledge that will allow correct decision making and measures to minimize the risk of flooding in this natural space.
