The objective of this work is to present a theoretical analysis of the so-called “Clínica Placera”, developed in the squares and parks of Asunción by the Paraguayan psychiatrist and anthropologist Agustín Barúa Caffarena. This text examines some of the fundamental concepts/pillars of the "Clínica Placera" and contrasts them with the hegemonic practices in mental health, according to the Latin American emancipatory practices. Throughout the work, those axes that allow the “Clinica Placera” to be characterized as a device with counter-hegemonic features from the ethical and theoretical developments of community mental health will be identified.
