In this article I study the issues of consent, more specifically sexual consent, responsibility and conflict outside of the legal tradition and its punitive reason, taking as point of departure our constitutive vulnerability to think an ethics of cohabitation. I build a critique to the neo/liberal notions of subjectivity that understand the “I” as a subject that is autonomous, free-willing and transparent to itself and I propose a conception based on ambiguity and opacity. I reflect then on the possibility of re-thinking our encounters with the others, on what means to consent without calculation, to be in charge without being the absolute owners of ourselves and on solving conflicts without using the repressive paradigm. I hope to contribute to the production of knowledge for our communities around the reparation of harm so that our life in common finds interstices to heal the wounds we all carry.
