In this essay I aim to show that for Heidegger being (Sein) and meaning (Sinn) are, in Being and Time, two side sof the same coin. The thesis can be summarized as follows: things are as long as they are shown and they can do so if they occur within the meaning, tha tis, being. Although Heidegger is not entirely explicit about this identification in Being and Time, I will try to provide some textual evidence from this work to corroborate this hypothesis. For thist askI will also make use of some other texts that surround the one of 1927, especially the lectures.
