This paper presents an analysis of lanceolate projectile points and other bifacial lithics from three locations in northwestern Córdoba Province, Argentina. These collections are housed at the Heritage Reserve of the Anthropology Museum (Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities, National University of Córdoba), the Tilisarao Museum (San Luis), and the Laboratory of the Córdoba Anthropology Institute. The goals of this paper are to connect the designs and shapes of these points to the weapon systems that they could have been used with and to characterize the lithic raw materials they were made with. Following Ratto’s (2003) methodology for analyzing point design, the results show that two similar designs predominate, A and C, which were likely used with at least one weapon system, hand-thrown spears. These points were made with four types of lithic raw materials from local sources of silcrete, quartz, metaquartzite, and volcanic rock.
