The aim of this work is to restore the theoretical place occupied by death –and its modalities– in the Foucaultian texts of the 1976-1979 period, marked by themes as biopower, biopolitics, governmentality and liberalism. We intend to consider the ways in which death and politics –in modernity– could be articulated, as well as delineate the boundaries in which the current discussion on biopolitics allows us to understand this relationship.
