Ideas e impresiones de un funcionario viajero: Raúl B Díaz el primer inspector de territorios nacionales (1890-1916)

Abstract

Este artículo explora las ideas y las acciones de Raúl B. Díaz, el primer inspector de escuelas de territorios nacionales. El trabajo muestra cómo Díaz fue un impulsor de la expansión de las escuelas en el territorio nacional mientras monitoreaba su desarrollo e interpelaba a las autoridades reclamando por las limitaciones del proyecto educativo en la campaña Argentina. El articulo también se detiene en la particular figura de Díaz subrayando los múltiples roles que desempeñó como funcionario estatal pero a la vez como un critico del estado en formación.This article explores the ideas and actions of Raúl B. Díaz, the first inspector of rural schools in Argentina. The essay describes Diaz’s role in the creation of schools as well as observer of the development of the Argentine education in the interior of the country. In this last role, the inspector disputed with state authorities because of the difficulties of the educational project in the countryside. The essay also discusses the particular figure of Díaz himself: a civil servant but a critic of the state as well.
